Who We Are, What, and Why

MESH was initiated by teachers and teacher-educators to support teaching becoming a research-based profession. We believe that just as parents expect medical doctors to draw on latest research, they should expect the same from their children’s teachers.
What We Do:
• Evidence-Based Think Tank: We operate as a worldwide network creating translational research—translating complex theory into classroom practice.
• MESHGuides: We produce freely available research summaries co-written by researchers and teachers.
• Multi-Modal Learning: Beyond text, we provide MESHCasts (podcasts) and videos on YouTube to explain how research applies in real-world classrooms.
Why MESH Matters: Society’s well-being depends on educators having access to up-to-date knowledge. We bridge the gap between “instructors” (who convey existing knowledge) and “trained teachers” (who design learning based on research, context, and student characteristics).
Our Vision and Ethics

• Global Equity: Through Google Translate, MESHGuides are available in over 249 languages, ensuring that teachers in middle-income and developing countries have access to the same evidence as those in wealthier regions.
• Independence: As an independent UK registered charity (Education Futures Collaboration), we are free from political whim and focused solely on evidence-informed practice.
